It is a simple stow clip used to hold the pole off of a float or Dive board when not in use.

I came up with this by swimming up to the surface in a murky kelp bed. The tip of the spear hit me on the head, which then inspired the idea. With the pole on the clip, the spear tip is safety out of the water and away from any Spearo's head.
